about

Sometimes it's not your approach or methods which need to change, but you need new colors to play with. Effects pedals and other tools in a musician's arsenal are like a painter's palette.... sometimes different shades or an altered palette inspire new takes on your existing methods. This collection of music started to coalesce in the last couple of months, spurred by a few sparse demos from the summer, along with pure improvisation and looping practices intended to clear my mind to help with stress and... well... life in general. The result was a little heavier and bigger than I originally intended. Fretless bass is featured here much more than my previous couple of collections. I'm not sure if this is all music for relaxation, or more for intense contemplation. Either way, I can listen to it passively and enjoy it myself as a listener, which means it passes my personal test. Hopefully it finds a spot in your playlist when the moods strike you.
